To whom it may concern: I have known Douglas for a good number of years and always considered him to be a creative spirit in many ways. He had spoken about various types of artwork he had done over time although all I had seen was a couple of woodcarving pieces. After he had gotten the dremel drill as a gift he seemed pretty excited about what he could do with it. I saw the first few etchings he had done and took it as a hobby he was finding some pleasure in. About a week or so after he had shown me his first works, we started talking about building a portfolio and gallery of photos that he could use to show his work around. I was at my studio and he sent through a few images he had shot and I practically fell off my seat. In a very short time he lad taken a huge leap in not only his skill level but the intensity at which he was obviously expanding this ‘hobby’; into a viable means of sharing his work with others. I myself have been an independent professional designer for 20 years, an artist all my life and when I saw the change in his work I was blown away. Since then I have seen Doug pursue this ‘new’ art with more passion and drive then most people find in their entire career. It’s not only as a fellow artist but as a friend that I say he is truly a find. Douglas possesses every quality that the highest performing corporations look for and it is with absolute joy that I watch him reveal his amazing talent through this new medium so that others will enjoy the talent he has. It is important to note that Douglas does all of the work by hand using diamond tip bits. In an age where everything is done by computer it is good to know that some art forms are still alive. I couldn’t be more impressed or recommend him any more highly,
Sincerely,

I have a sister whose birthday was fast approaching. She is so hard to buy for but, when Douglas showed me what he can do with glass I became very relieved. He created a personalized etching with the one thing my sister loves the most. She was so happy when she opened her gift. Thank you Douglas for coming through for me.
I have a friend who collects clowns. She has every clown imaginable and I thought that I would never be able to find something that would be unique in comparison to what she already had. Douglas was able to supply just what I wanted. He created for me a pair of clowns, one happy one sad. They are hanging on my friend’s wall and have become the topic of many conversations. Her living room has that special added touch thanks to Douglas.
My husband and I are very particular about what we have in our home. When we heard about Douglas and his work we thought we would give him a try. He was ever so pleasant with us. He made us feel that we were in charge and had done his best to involve us in creating the look we wanted in our etchings. We have two of Douglas’s etchings in our home, one sits on our mantle and the other hangs on the wall. They make wonderful additions to an already beautiful room. His artistic abilities are a little rough around the edges but, are blossoming into something to behold. Keep your eyes on this one he is going places.
I have been in the glass business for over thirty years and have been sand etching for many of them. It is nice to see that there is someone holding fast to the old ways. Douglas does all of his etchings by hand using diamond tip bits. His work may take a little longer than most of us who are using the blasting or laser techniques but if it is a surface etching you require he is your guy.
I have seen a lot of Douglas’ work and believe that his wall hangings and mantle pieces to be his finest creations. Each of us has at least one thing that we excel in and these (in my opinion) are the two forms in which Douglas shines.
