Some of the materials used in the creations include, Pine, Oak, Fir, Jatoba and
many other types of wood.
The glass supplied comes in a wide array of dimensions
and thicknesses. I also use coloured glass as well if required and available. The Wall
Hangings I create come either framed or fitted with handmade clips and wiring.
Some of the smaller works (tealights) are mounted into bases made of knotty pine
which of course are made by hand. They are notched to hold the glass in place, and
a small tea light candle is placed behind the etching to enhance its beauty.
All pieces of available stone are carved and polished by hand.
Awards are mounted into a variety of wood and given no less than three coats of wood finish and three
coats of polyurethane.
All of the mantle pieces and wall hangings are given a foam core backing to enhance the image. Some clients prefer to have a color added and so a piece of colored paper is placed between the foam core and the glass giving the piece a new element and is quite cost effective.
